Your hosts are Vince McMahon & Bastion Booger

IRS vs. Marty Jannetty recap: IRS attacked the injured The 1-2-3 Kid on commentary during Marty Jannetty's match last week, leading to a brawl. 1-2-3 Kid stole IRS' briefcase in the middle of the chaos, and found Razor Ramon's gold inside the briefcase. IRS wants revenge and that's why he's taking on Jannetty tonight.

RAW's intro plays and McMahon & Booger "hype up" tonight's matches. Bastion Booger is eating nachos the entire time, because of course he is.

The Smoking Gunns (Billy & Bart Gunn) vs. Barry Horowitz & Reno Riggins

Billy Gunn takes it to Riggins with a series of quick armdrags to start, but he gets caught in the heel corner. Billy turns things around all by himself, however, and Bart Gunn comes in off the top rope with a flying bodypress onto both men. The Smoking Gunns clean house and get a pretty good reaction from the crowd. Billy and Bart take turns working on Reno's arm and Bart delivers a delayed vertical suplex. Bart stays on the arm for a while, until Reno Riggins fights back. Reno actually sets him up for a northern lights suplex, which Bart reverses rather easily. He tags Billy back in to finish Reno with a powerbomb/flying elbowdrop combo at 3:37.

Winners: The Smoking Gunns

  • Rating: Nice little squash match with Reno Riggins (in particular) making The Smoking Gunns look good. 1/2*

Owen Hart/Bret Hart feud recap: They take us back to Owen's heel turn after the tag title match against The Quebecers at the Royal Rumble. We also hear from both Owen and Bret, who were interviewed by Vince McMahon. Owen says kicking Bret's leg felt great because he took years of frustration off his shoulders with that kick. Bret insists he doesn't want to fight Owen, but he has no choice but to knock some sense into his brother.

Owen Hart vs. John Paul

Owen comes to the ring wearing Bret's shades, but destroys them in front of a child in the front row rather than giving them to the kid. Owen outwrestles John Paul as the crowd chants for Bret. The chants make Owen more aggressive, as he starts driving knees to John Paul's mid-section and delivers a backbreaker across the knee. The fans still want Bret, and Owen responds by hitting a suplex immediately followed by a legdrop. Owen takes too much time and allows John Paul to strike Owen a couple of times, which gets a nice reaction from the fans. However, Owen cuts him off immediately with a nice spinning wheel kick. Owen breaks up the count at two so he can destroy this poor guy with some uppercuts in the corner. John Paul manages to block a kick, but Owen still puts him down with an enziguiri. The Sharpshooter gives Owen Hart the victory at 3:47.

Winner: Owen Hart

  • Rating: Very good squash with Owen Hart looking more aggressive than ever in one of his first televised WWF matches as a heel. 3/4*

Paul Bearer vignette: He's talking to The Undertaker in the cemetery. You just need to have faith in The Undertaker and one day he'll rise again!

Irwin R. Schyster vs. Marty Jannetty

Custom match card graphic for Marty Jannetty vs IRS aka Irwin R. Schyster on the February 7 1994 episode of WWF / WWE Monday Night Raw

IRS wastes no time and goes after Marty as soon as the bell rings. IRS slugs away, Marty fights back with a number of dropkicks as well as a flying shoulder tackle and IRS bails. Back in, IRS takes Marty down with a drop toehold, but Marty reverses and starts working on IRS' arm. They go to the outside again shortly afterwards, with IRS sending Jannetty into the ring post quite viciously. They get back inside the ring and Marty gets two with a sunset flip. Meanwhile, The Quebecers arrive at ringside just as we go to a break.

Commercial break

We're back and we find out The Quebecers have already been sent to the back by the referee due to outside interference. They show us a replay of that, and then we're back to live action with Marty getting his boot up to avoid a flying attack by IRS before getting two off a small package. IRS applies his contractually obligated rope-assisted abdominal stretch. Jannetty escapes the hold with a hiptoss, but misses an elbowdrop and IRS applies a chinlock. Marty breaks the hold, sends IRS into the turnbuckle and follows it up with a slam. Superkick by Jannetty... but now Johnny Polo is here. Marty stays in control and Razor Ramon shows up to even the odds, but The Quebecers are back again. The action continues inside the ring with Jannetty applying a sleeper while The Quebecers tease going after Razor. That distracts the referee, causing him to miss Polo tripping up Jannetty as he went for a slingshot move. Marty lands on his face and that's enough for IRS to steal the victory after 9:00.

Razor Ramon goes after IRS as soon as he scores the pinfall win, but he's stopped by The Quebecers. Eventually Marty gets back up and helps Razor clean house. A Razor's Edge finishes the job and the babyfaces stand tall.

Winner: Irwin R. Schyster

  • Rating: Marty Jannetty never fails to deliver a solid match on RAW, and this was no exception. While not one of his greatest showings, especially due to the constant outside shenanigans as well as IRS' methodic in-ring style, it was still a fine TV match. **

Thurman Sparky Plugg vs. Duane Gill

This is Bob Holly's very first match on RAW. He takes it to the future Gillberg with a number of armdrags and a thrust kick. Duane Gill celebrates after jumping over the top rope and landing on the apron, but Sparky punches him when he turns around. Dropkick by Sparky, followed by a slam and a legdrop. Sparky backdrops Duane Gill before hitting another slam. Duane Gill tries to fight back, but Sparky cuts him off immediately with a suplex. Sparky with his third powerslam of this match, and he comes off the top with an Overhead Cam for the win at 3:02.

Winner: Thurman Sparky Plugg

  • Rating: Just a regular squash while the commentators talked about everything else. 1/4*

WrestleMania X Report: Todd Pettengill is the host, as usual. Todd recaps last week's coin toss and goes over the rules of the WWF Title picture for the 1000th time. Is it really that hard to understand that Yoko/Luger happens first and the winner of their match defends against Bret Hart in the main event? Jim Cornette cuts a promo saying Yokozuna will be ready for Lex Luger come WrestleMania. Also announced for 'Mania, Crush and Randy Savage will face off in a "falls count anywhere" match where the winner must return to the ring within a minute after a fall takes place.

Main Event

Crush (w/ Mr. Fuji) vs. Dave Thornberg

Crush puts Thornberg down immediately with a huge chop. Crush no-sells Thornberg's clotheslines and goes to work on the arm. Superkick by Crush, who remains in control. He picks up Thornberg and delivers a gorilla press slam followed by a legdrop for the win at 2:39.

Winner: Crush

  • Rating: A dominant win for Crush ahead of his match with WrestleMania match with Macho Man. 1/4*

The Quebecers & Johnny Polo complain backstage after Jack Tunney just announced a tag team title match between them and Razor Ramon & Marty Jannetty two weeks later on RAW.

There will be no episode of RAW next week so...

Two weeks later: Bret Hart will face one of the members of The Heavenly Bodies in a singles match, and The Quebecers will put the WWF World Tag Team Championship on the line against Razor Ramon & Marty Jannetty.

END OF THE SHOW

Final thoughts: This was a boring RAW. The episode itself wasn't the greatest, but Bastion Booger took the focus away from the action and the stories being told with constant food jokes throughout the whole episode. Owen Hart's squash was solid and he looked very aggressive, but you wouldn't miss a damn thing if you missed this one. This was one of the weakest RAWs in quite some time, in my opinion. 3/10
